Over the course of the semester, there are several achievements-based badges given to those who write successful blog posts. Some of them are listed here, and others will be unlocked from the vault as we work our way through the class. Badges in the Benchmarks category are the only ones that can be earned without a badge application (they are given automatically to the class leader each month).
Most-Commented on Blog Post Badge
Most-Commented On Post Badge (12 points) - The Most-Commented On Post Badge goes to the author of the blog post that elicits the most comments from readers each month. This badge will be awarded three times: at the beginning of September, October, and November. Note that I will only count an author’s comments on his or her own post if they are in response to someone else’s comment or question.
Most-Read Blog Post Badge
Most-Read Blog Post Badge (27 points) – The Most-Read Blog Post Badge is awarded to the author of the blog post that receives the most hits in a given month. The badge will be awarded three times during the semester: at the end of September, October, and November.
Most-Shared Blog Post Badge
Most-Shared Blog Post Badge (18 points) – The Most-Shared Blog Post Badge goes to the author of the blog post that is shared the most times on social media networks in a given month. Note that “sharing” in this context means direct clicks on the “Share This” menu at the bottom of each post. This badge will be awarded three times during the semester: at the end of September, October, and November.
